Lane Kiffin took a subtle jab at Stanford head coach David Shaw on Monday after during an interview on Sirius/XM radio.

It's been well publicized that Andrew Luck often called three different plays in the huddle at Stanford, then chose the best play at the line of scrimmage.  Luck's ability to audible has been praised by Jim Harbaugh, Shaw, and several members of the media.

Kiffin was asked today if Matt Barkley will have more control of the offense and be able to call plays / audible more at the line of scrimmage in his senior year.

Kiffin responded, "He already does that.  I don't know if he gets a lot of credit for it because we don't talk a lot about it in public."

USC is expected to contend for the PAC-12 and perhaps national championship in 2012.

Kiffin, however, doesn't seem to want a pre-season #1 ranking.  He said, "I don't know how vote a team #1 that has less players than everyone else."

In other USC news, ESPN announced today exclusive radio broadcast rights to USC home football games.

To boot, the NFL Network recently rated the USC program as the #1 football factory of all-time.  Check out the video:
