The Los Angeles Daily News has dubbed it the "Sun Bowl Apology Tour." Southern Cal head coach Lane Kiffin has now apologized for three incidents during his Trojans' preparation for their bowl game against Georgia Tech.

Two of those were tweets by players that were critical of host city El Paso, Texas. The one that has gotten the most attention, though, came Wednesday night when the Trojans were late for a bowl event. Several reports the next day said Southern Cal was 90 minutes late. Kiffin said his team was only 30 minutes late. Either way, Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson got tired of waiting and took his team home early.

"I just thought when we showed up and they were leaving at the same time, that it was just staggered like a lot of the events are," Kiffin said. "We didn't think anything of it until today."

The Trojans' schedule was pushed back several times throughout the day, starting with a delayed flight out of Los Angeles, Kiffin said in explaining his team's arrival time.

"I did not know it was a big deal at all until this morning," he said. "The bowl people that we there were not upset. The event was supposed to go a lot longer. (Georgia Tech) left a lot earlier than they were supposed to. They have to do what they have to do."
