Stanford: Former Oakland Raiders defensive quality control assistant Eric Sanders has joined the Stanford staff a defensive assistant. Sanders spent five seasons with the Raiders in various quality control roles. In addition, assistant director of football operations Ryan Devlin has been promoted to coordinator of player personnel, and administrative associate Callie Seidman has been promoted to assistant director of football operations.

Savannah State: Former Norfolk State offensive line assistant and current Northeast Guilford HS (NC) head coach Donovan Jackson has joined the Savannah State staff as offensive line coach.

Oklahoma State: Former Southern Miss director of strength and conditioning Mark Smith and former Southern Miss strength and conditioning coordinator Anthony Hibbert have joined the Oklahoma State staff as assistant strength and conditioning coaches. Both spent the past two years at USM.

Rushing defense: 19 schools have improved their rushing defense for two straight years. Here’s a look.

Harvard: Bentley University (MA) defensive line coach Logan Thompson has joined the Harvard staff as assistant defensive line coach. Thompson previously spent 2013 as a special teams quality control coach at Coastal Carolina and has also coached at Fitchburg State (MA).

College Football Playoff: Former Vanderbilt head coach Bobby Johnson will replace Archie Manning on the playoff selection committee.

Graduate transfer: An NCAA group will look at potentially changing the graduate transfer rule.

Rutgers: Springfield College (MA) outside linebackers graduate assistant Jared Keyte has accepted a player development position at Rutgers. Keyte spent two seasons at Springfield.

Colby College (ME): Springfield College (MA) offensive line graduate assistant Matt Dugan has accepted a running backs position at Colby College. Dugan spent two seasons at Springfield.

Saint Augustine’s University (NC ): Per source, Fayetteville State defensive coordinator / defensive backs coach Errick Hargrove has joined the Saint Augustine staff as defensive coordinator / defensive backs coach / associate head coach / recruiting coordinator. Hargrove previously served as defensive coordinator at Virginia State from 2006-2013.

St. Lawrence University (NY): Men’s soccer coach / assistant athletic director Bob Durocher has been promoted to athletic director.

Minnesota State: Simpson College (IA) offensive coordinator / assistant head coach Joe Beschorner has joined the Minnesota State staff as interim offensive coordinator. Beschorner spent the past seven seasons at Simpson.

Cincinnati: Moeller HS (OH) offensive line coach Doug Rosfeld has joined the Cincinnati staff as director of player development. Rosfeld is a former Cincinnati player and has been at Moeller since 2005. He has also served as rugby head coach in the spring since 2009.

Rushing offense: 28 schools have improved their rushing offense for two straight years.

Southern University: Athletic director William Broussard has been reassigned to the president’s office, and men’s basketball coach Roman Banks will be named interim athletic director, according to The Advocate. Broussard was hired to the position three years ago and received a three-year extension last April.

New Mexico Highlands: Indiana State wide receivers coach Joe Bever has joined the Highlands staff as offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach. Bever spent two seasons at Indiana State, and he follows ISU defensive line coach Jeff Mills, who was named Highlands head coach earlier this month. Bever previously coached at Evangel University as offensive coordinator. 

Fort Lewis College (CO): Defensive line / strength and conditioning coach Joe Morris has been promoted to assistant head coach. Morris is entering his third year with the Skyhawks.

Ventura College (CA): Feather River College (CA) defensive coordinator / defensive line coach Michael Haydon has joined the Ventura staff as linebackers coach / special teams coordinator. Haydon had been at Feather River since 2010.

Tennessee: Butch Jones explains why he had a player sit in on a coaching interview for the first time in his career.

Virginia Tech: Head coach Frank Beamer says he is back to full strength as Virginia Tech began spring practice this week. Beamer had throat surgery in December and coached from the press box in the Military Bowl.

Seattle Seahawks: The team has announced the addition of former Florida A&M safeties coach Chris Cash as cornerbacks coach, former Saints assistant defensive backs coach Andre Curtis as safeties coach and former Browns and Seahawks defensive line coach Dwaine Board as assistant defensive line coach. Cash played for Pete Carroll at USC from 2000-01, Curtis has also coached with the Rams and Giants, and Board was the Seahawks defensive line coach from 2003-08.

Missouri Southern State: Per source, Hutchinson CC (KS) head coach Rion Rhodes has withdrawn his name from the finalists in the head coaching search at Missouri Southern. Rhodes is heading into his ninth season as Hutchinson head coach.

Delaware Valley College (PA): Linebackers coach Ed Lynett has been promoted to defensive coordinator. Lynett joined the staff in 2014 after three seasons as defensive coordinator at Ursinus College (PA).

Northeastern State (OK): Quarterbacks coach Dane Simoneau has been promoted to offensive coordinator, and Ellsworth CC (IA) offensive line coach Julian Mendez has joined the staff as offensive line coach. Simoneau is entering his second season with the RiverHawks, and Mendez spent the past two seasons at Ellsworth.

South Carolina: Steve Spurrier says he will have full play-calling duties in 2015, after delegating at times last season.

Nebraska: Offensive line coach Mike Cavanaugh says of his new job at Nebraska, “I’ve been waiting for this opportunity my whole life.”

Iowa State: Missouri Western tight ends coach Ryan Olson has joined the Iowa State staff as an offensive line graduate assistant.

Houston Texans: Quarterbacks coach George Godsey will be promoted to offensive coordinator, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Michigan State: On coaching styles, Tom Izzo explains, “The Vince Lombardi days are over.”

West Virginia: Special teams coordinator Mark Scott will earn $150,000 in a one-year deal, according to the Charleston Daily Mail. Scott spent last season as a graduate assistant. 

Philadelphia Eagles: Owner Jeffrey Lurie says there were no safeguards written into Chip Kelly’s contract when he got full personnel control to keep him from leaving for college, according NFL.com’s Conor Orr.

Indiana State: Georgia State defensive line coach Shannon Jackson will join the Indiana State staff in the same role, according to Sports Illustrated’s Thayer Evans. Jackson has been at GSU for the past two seasons. He is a former ISU player and previously coached at the school from 2000-04 and 2008-12. Keep track of open FBS assistant jobs here.

Ohio State: Offensive coordinator / offensive line coach Ed Warinner will call plays from the field, Urban Meyer said Tuesday.

Southwest Mississippi CC: Offensive coordinator Jamie Everett has resigned, citing a family decision. Everett was at Southwest for the past two seasons, previously serving as offensive line coach there from 2007-08.

Maine: Pace University defensive coordinator / linebackers coach Corey Hetherman has joined the Maine staff as defensive line coach, and defensive backs / safeties coach Greg Webster has been promoted to a full-time role. Hetherman spent one year at Pace after four years at Old Dominion, and Webster has been at Maine since 2012.

Valparaiso: King’s College (PA) tight ends coach Sami Caygoz has joined the Valpo staff in the same position. Caygoz spent two seasons at King’s College after finishing his playing career at Franklin & Marshall College.

Castleton State (VT): Mill River HS (VT) head coach Tucker Peterson has joined the Castleton State staff as offensive line coach, according to the Castleton Spartan. Offensive coordinator Kevin Trigonis previously held offensive line duties last season.

Syracuse: Per source, former Central Michigan graduate assistant Jesse Johnson has joined the Syracuse staff as a defensive graduate assistant. He previously served as a GA at The Citadel.
