South Florida: Offensive graduate assistant David Gilbertson has been promoted to tight ends coach. It has not yet been announced who will coach special teams. Gilbertson joined the USF staff in summer 2014 and played quarterback at Washington State from 2009-13. He joins the list of graduate assistants hired to full-time jobs this year. This gives Willie Taggart his nine full-time assistants for 2015. Here is a look at the many USF staff changes this year.

Findlay: has an interview with Findlay co-defensive coordinator / defensive line coach Jake Zweig, who is a former Navy SEAL officer and left the private sector to begin a coaching career in 2005. You can read it here

San Jose State: Mountain West Conference  senior associate commissioner / chief financial officer Mike Waller has been named senior associate athletic director for business operations at SJSU. Waller spent two years at the Mountain West after 24 years in the athletic department at Boise State. 

Valdosta State: West Georgia linebackers coach / special teams coordinator Chad Williams has joined the Valdosta State staff as defensive coordinator. Williams previously served as a graduate assistant at Middle Tennessee State in 2013 and at Jacksonville State in 2012.

Texas A&M-Commerce: Quality control assistant Drew Hollingshead has been promoted to wide receivers coach. Hollingshead has spent the past two seasons working with Commerce’s quarterbacks.

Cumberland (KY): Eastern Kentucky wide receivers coach Klay Koester has joined the Cumberland staff as offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach. Koester spent the past five years at EKU. And has also coached at McMurry (KY).

Limestone College (S.C.): Wide receivers coach Joe Stockton has been promoted to offensive coordinator, assistant defensive line coach Michael Enoch has been promoted to defensive line coach, and assistant defensive backs coach Josh Davis has been promoted to wide receivers coach. Stockton has been with the program since 2013, while Enoch and Davis joined in 2014.

Big Ten: Here is CoachingSearch’s look at the Big Ten running backs coaches.

Next in line: Here’s a look at the assistant coaches you can expect to be head coaching candidates after the 2015 season.

Virginia Tech: Defensive backs coach / passing game coordinator Torrian Gray’s letter of appointment has been renewed through June 30, 2016, and his salary will remain at $275,000, according to the Virginian-Pilot. Eight of the nine Virginia Tech assistants have letters of appointment through June 2016. Defensive coordinator / inside linebackers coach Bud Foster is the only one on contract, which is through 2019.

Mid-American Conference: Director of football operations / special events Kerri Krawczak has been promoted to director of football operations and external relations for the MAC, and assistant commissioner for institutional services Kristin Williams has been promoted to associate commissioner for institutional services and senior woman administrator. 

Morgan State: Per source, offensive line / assistant head coach Dwayne Foster is no longer on the staff and has taken another job. Foster spent one season at Morgan State after three years as offensive line / assistant head coach at North Carolina Central. 

Liberty: Assistant director of player personnel Kettie Fickter has been promoted to director of player personnel and recruiting. Fickter joined Liberty in 2014 after working in event management at Wake Forest and LSU. She served as Liberty’s assistant to the director of football operations and recruiting in 2009.

Eastern Kentucky: Liberty director of player personnel and recruiting Charlie Skalaski III will join the staff at Eastern Kentucky, according to Flames Nation. Skalaski coached tight ends and wide receivers at Liberty from 2003-11 and rejoined the staff in 2014 as director of player personnel / recruiting. He coached with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2012. 

Bethune-Cookman: Athletic director Lynn Thompson has been promoted to vice president for intercollegiate athletics. Thompson has served as B-CU’s athletic director since 1991.

Appalachian State: Per source, South Florida tight ends coach / special teams coordinator Stu Holt is no longer on the USF staff. Sports Illustrated's Thayer Evans reports Holt is expected to join the Appalachian State staff. Holt had been on the USF staff since 2013. Keep track of open FBS assistant jobs here.

Houston: Defensive coordinator / linebackers coach Todd Orlando has a base salary of $501,000 on a two-year deal, according to the Houston Chronicle. That is believed to make Orlando the highest-paid Group of Five assistant coach. Former Houston defensive coordinator David Gibbs was the highest-paid in 2014 at $400,000.

Running backs: Here are the nation’s highest-paid running backs coaches.

Penn State: Newly-hired consultant Jim Haslett tells the Washington Post he was planning to take this year off from coaching, before James Franklin called. Haslett’s duties at PSU will include sitting in on staff meetings, watching film and going to practice. He will miss a few Penn State games in order to watch all of his son’s games at Indiana (PA). NCAA: President Mark Emmert made more than $1.8 million in 2013, according to USA Today. His base salary of $1.3 million was a raise of about $100,000 from 2012. Chief operating officer Jim Isch (who retired this year) made nearly $1.1 million in 2013, and executive vice president Donald Remy made more than $775,000.

New Mexico State: Director of football operations Kevin Tibolt is leaving to pursue an advanced degree. Tibolt has been at NMSU since 2011, beginning as an assistant to the special teams coach. He also served as a football operations intern at New Hampshire in 2010.

Maryland: Head coach Randy Edsall has signed a three-year contract extension through 2019. Salary terms were not disclosed, but he earned just more than $2 million in 2014. The 56-year-old Edsall is 20-30 in four years at Maryland, but they’ve gone 7-5 in the past two regular seasons, with two bowl appearances. The Terps went 4-4 and finished third in the Big Ten East in 2014.

Michigan: Assistant director of public and media relations Zach Eisendrath has been promoted to director of internal communications and operations for the football program. Eisendrath has been at Michigan since 2012 and has previously worked at the Mountain West Conference, the Denver Broncos, Minnesota and the Minnesota Timberwolves.

New Mexico State: Per source, the director of football operations job is open.

UCF: George O’Leary explains why he added the UCF interim athletic director job.

UAB: Bill Clark tells he’s hoping negotiations with the school will result in a long-term deal for him. Clark is currently under contract through 2016. The school has described the negotiations as “ongoing.”

Ohio: Per source, cornerbacks coach James Ward has resigned for personal reasons. Ward joined the Ohio staff in 2013 after five years as Nevada's cornerbacks coach, and he spent the previous five years as Colorado State's defensive backs coach. Ward’s resignation means there are now three open full-time assistant jobs in FBS for the 2015 season.

Tiffin (OH): Toledo graduate assistant John Morookian has joined the Tiffin staff as offensive line coach, according to his Twitter account. Morookian, a former Toledo player, spent one season as a graduate assistant. 

Findlay: Assistant athletic director / senior woman administrator Brandi Laurita has been promoted to athletic director. Laurita has been at Findlay since 2008. She previously worked as head cross country coach / director of compliance at Converse College (SC).

North Central University (MN): University of Northwestern (MN) assistant athletic director Greg Johnson has been named athletic director at North Central. Johnson spent the past eight years at the University of Northwestern. He will begin his duties on July 15.

Pearl River CC (MS): Former UAB offensive analyst Stephen Sorrells has been named offensive line / assistant head coach at Pearl River. Sorrells has also coached at Kenyon College, Occidental College and Faulkner University. 

Toledo: Wayne State (MI) defensive backs graduate assistant Steven McCollom has joined the Toledo staff as a defensive graduate assistant. McCollom had been at Wayne State since 2013.

Illinois: Former Illinois basketball player Dee Brown has rejoined the athletic program as a special assistant to athletic director Mike Thomas. Duties include assisting in recruiting, building alumni relationships and representing the department at fundraising functions. Brown will begin the role on July 1 and serve until he travels overseas to play his final season of professional basketball.

Pacific (OR): The school has announced a number of staff changes. Defensive line coach / equipment manager Marc Moody has been promoted to defensive coordinator / linebackers coach, and New Mexico graduate assistant Lukkes Gilgan has been hired as defensive backs coach / equipment manager. Co-offensive coordinator / offensive line coach / run game coordinator Ian Falconer has added the title of assistant head coach, and co-offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Matt Wade has assume full coordinator duties and added recruiting coordinator duties. In addition, a number of former players have joined the staff. Michael Smith has been hired as defensive line coach, Gabe Flory has been hired as outside linebackers coach, Gunther Schultze will serve as an undergraduate assistant, and Austin Brown will serve as a special teams assistant. 


Indianapolis Colts: Per source, former NFL player Roosevelt Williams will participate in a Bill Walsh Minority Fellowship coaching position with the Colts for the second year in a row. Walsh most recently served as the defensive coordinator at Seton Hill University (PA) in 2013. He has also coached at Southwest Baptist (MO) and Widener (PA).
