Illinois: I have learned that Illinois head coach Tim Beckman will hire North Carolina director of player personnel Marcus Berry in the same capacity.

Western Carolina: Western Carolina head coach Mark Spier announced today the hiring of former New England Patriots wide receiver David Patten.

Missouri State: Upper Iowa defensive line coach Ben Barkema has joined the Missouri State staff as tight ends / special teams coordinator.

Urban Meyer did not disappoint at the Ohio coaches' clinic.

Arkansas: The Arkansas Democrat Gazette is reporting that Fayetteville HS defensive coordinator Brian Early has accepted the defensive quality control job at Arkansas. Early has college coaching experience, most recently at Central Arkansas from 2004-2009.

Kansas: Assistant DFO Scott Vestal has been promoted to assistant defensive backs coach. Defensive coordinator Dave Campo has added the title of assistant head coach for defense. Defensive grad assistant Rod Jones will now serve as the director of high school relations, while defensive grad assistant Maurice Crum Jr. takes over Vestal's role as the assistant DFO. Louis Matsakis' title is director of player personnel.

Washington Redskins: According to The Washington Post, Denver Broncos assistant special teams coach Keith Burns has reached an agreement with the Redskins to become their head special teams coach.

Purdue: In addition to coaching the tight ends, Gerard Parker will also serve as the recruiting coordinator.

Alabama: Alabama wide receivers / recruiting coordinator Mike Groh has been named Rivals' National Recruiter of the Year.

USC: CBS Sports reporter Bruce Feldman tweeted earlier that the offensive line job at USC is open, which indicates that Lane Kiffin might be shifting James Cregg from offensive line to tight ends. Justin Mesa, a graduate assistant, coached the tight ends this season.  Mesa, however, is in his third year as a graduate assistant, thus can't continue in the role next season. The LA Times also reported that Kiffin made a run at Oregon State offensive line coach Mike Cavanaugh, only to be turned down by Cavanaugh. I wonder if Lane is targeting San Francisco 49ers offensive assistant Paul Wulff, who previously served as the head coach at Washington State. Wulff has a background as an offensive line coach.  He made a name for himself as an offensive coordinator at Eastern Washington, which helped him land the head coaching job at Eastern Washington before moving on to Wazzu.

Duke swag!

St. Louis Rams: According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Detroit Lions defensive backs job Tim Walton is interviewing for the Rams' defensive coordinator job.

Hawaii: Former Colorado and NFL offensive lineman Chris Naeole has joined Norm Chow's staff at Hawaii. A source tells me that Naeole will serve as the offensive line coach, while Chris Wiesehan will shift positions.

Hamline University (MN): Sources tell me Bucknell corners / special teams coordinator Chip Taylor has accepted the defensive coordinator job at Hamline University.

North Carolina: We reported three weeks ago to expect Larry Fedora to target Arizona State co-defensive coordinator / outside linebackers coach Ron West. Fox Sports Arizona is reporting that West has indeed accepted a position on Fedora's staff at UNC.

Montreal Alouettes: Sources tell me that Montreal has been in contact with former Boise State and Colorado head coach Dan Hawkins. The Alouettes should have their new head coach very soon and Hawkins very well could be the guy. I am told as many as six coaches interviewed for the job.

Eastern Michigan: Sienna Heights University wide receivers coach Michael McGee has accepted the offensive quality control position. In addition, KiJuan Ware's title will be defensive backs coach.

Florida: Muschamp says, 'If you can't recruit, you won't coach at Florida.'

Murray State: Alabama defensive quality control Russ Callaway has indeed accepted the wide receivers / special teams coordinator at Murray State.

Utah: Iliasa Tuiaki will shift from fullback / tight ends to defensive line coach.

USC: The Los Angeles Times is reporting that Oregon State offensive line coach Mike Cavanaugh turned down an opportunity to join Lane Kiffin's staff. USC has not announced anything regarding current offensive line coach James Cregg, but Bruce Feldman tweeted this morning that it's is a good time to be an offensive line coach because Oklahoma, Alabama, and USC are looking.

Northern Illinois: Sources tell me Northern Illinois head coach Rod Carey will hire Alabama defensive quality control assistant Kelvin Sigler as defensive backs coach. Here's our story.

Indiana: Oklahoma offensive line coach James Patton has been hired as Indiana's special teams coordinator / assistant defensive line coach / recruiting coordinator.

Utah State: I've been informed that former Arizona Cardinals running backs coach Tommie Robinson will join Matt Wells' staff at Utah State as the running backs / special teams coordinator. Update: Hang tight on Robinson joining the staff.  I am now told that while Robinson has been offered the job, another organization is pursuing Robinson this morning.

Duke: Scottie Montgomery will have the title of offensive coordinator - passing game / wide receivers / associate head coach.

Utah: Former Arizona State head coach Dennis Erickson has been named co-offensive coordinator at Utah. Fullbacks / tight ends coach Iliasa Tuiaki has been moved to defense line.

Oklahoma: Last week, we hinted that Oklahoma offensive line coach James Patton would move on. This morning, Oklahoma Rivals' is reporting that Patton has in fact informed his players that he will not return to the staff. It will be interesting to see if Duke offensive line coach John Latina or former Kansas head coach Mark Mangino enter the mix. Stoops once offered the offensive line job to Latina, but Latina decided at the time to remain at Ole Miss.

Glazier Clinics: Thousands of coaches will attend the Glazier Clinics this weekend. Clinics are set for Charlotte, Cincinnati, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Minneapolis, New York / New Jersey, and Seattle. Here's why you should attend.

Pitt: Paul Chryst has yet to announce his plan on defense since Dave Huxtable departed for NC State over a month ago.  One name to keep an eye on is Baltimore Ravens defensive backs coach Teryl Austin. I'm told Chryst reached out to Austin at one point.
