Kentucky: New wide receivers coach Lamar Thomas will earn $275,000 in 2016 and $300,000 in 2017, according to the Louisville Courier-Journal.

San Jose State: Ron Caragher has officially announced the additions of former Eastern Michigan head coach Ron English (defensive coordinator), New Mexico defensive line coach Barry Sacks (defensive line coach), Long Beach City College defensive coordinator Arnold Ale (linebackers coach) and Dixie State special teams coordinator Will Harris (defensive backs coach). 

UAB: Director of player personnel Randy Pippin has been promoted to running backs coach. Pippin joined the UAB staff in the summer and previously served as defensive coordinator at East Central University (OK). This completes Bill Clark’s full-time staff at UAB.

Utah State: Wide receivers coach / passing game coordinator Jovon Bouknight has been promoted to co-offensive coordinator. Bouknight has spent the past six years coaching the receivers. Luke Wells will remain as co-offensive coordinator, but move from tight ends coach to quarterbacks.

Indianapolis Colts: The Colts have officially announced the additions of Morgan State head coach Lee Hull (wide receivers coach), Arkansas running backs coach Jemal Singleton (RB coach), Citadel defensive coordinator Maurice Drayton (assistant special teams coach), former Buccaneers wide receivers coach Andrew Hayes-Stoker (assistant to the head coach) and former Eagles assistant strength coach Quadrian Banks (conditioning / performance analyst). In addition, offensive line coach Joe Philbin has added the title of assistant head coach.

UC Davis: IUP defensive line coach Bryant Haines has joined the UC Davis staff as linebackers coach. Haines spent two years at IUP.

Morgan State: Offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Fred Farrier has officially been named interim head coach. Former head coach Lee Hull left for an assistant job with the Indianapolis Colts. Sports Illustrated reports Farrier is expected to get the full-time job.

Miami Dolphins: Wisconsin defensive backs coach Daronte Jones will join the Dolphins as assistant defensive backs coach, according to ESPN’s Adam Caplan. Jones spent one season at Wisconsin after three at Hawaii. This is his first NFL job, but he coached in the CFL in 2011. Keep track of open FBS assistant jobs here.

San Diego Chargers: Northwestern graduate assistant Tommy Rees has joined the Chargers staff as an offensive assistant, and former South Dakota defensive line coach / special teams coordinator Marquice Williams has joined the staff as a special teams assistant. The former Notre Dame quarterback Rees spent one year at Northwestern, and Williams worked at South Dakota from 2012-15.

Michigan: New linebackers / special teams coach Chris Partridge will earn $350,000 annually on a two-year deal, according to the Detroit Free Press. Partridge spent last season as U-M’s director of player personnel in recruiting. 

New York Jets: Former Cardinals offensive assistant David Diaz-Infante has joined the Jets staff as assistant offensive line coach, and Bills operations assistant Tim Atkins has joined the Jets staff as defensive quality control coach. Diaz-Infante last coached with the Cardinals in 2014, and Atkins had been with the Bills since 2011. In addition, previous defensive quality control coach John Scott Jr. has been promoted to assistant defensive line coach. Scott has been with the Jets for one season.

Purdue: Central Michigan graduate assistant Sean Robinson and former Colts player Justin Sinz have joined the Purdue staff as graduate assistants. Both are former recent Purdue players.

Louisiana-Lafayette: Offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Jorge Munoz has received a $40,000 pay raise to $160,000 after his promotion, according to The Advertiser. In addition, new wide receivers coach John Simon will earn $110,000, which is $40,000 more than he earned last year at Southern Miss. 

Western Kentucky: Former Houston head coach Tony Levine has officially been named tight ends coach / special teams coordinator at WKU. Levine was Houston’s head coach from 2012-14. There remains one opening on the WKU staff.

Stanford: Defensive line coach Randy Hart has announced his retirement. Hart spent the past six years at Stanford and 46 as a college football coach. Read more here. 

Virginia Tech: Justin Fuente says the search for a new defensive backs coach is on hold while the current staff has the week off for vacation. He plans to make a decision in a couple weeks. 

South Carolina: Steve Spurrier’s new title at South Carolina is special assistant to the president and athletic director, and The State reports he will earn $100,000 annually.

Winston-Salem State: South Brunswick High School (NC) quarterbacks coach Ryan McManus will join the Winston-Salem State staff as quarterbacks coach, according to Sports Illustrated’s Thayer Evans. McManus is a former Wake Forest quarterback and served as a graduate assistant at Wake from 2012-14.

Army: Former Ball State defensive backs coach Daryl Dixon has joined the Army staff as outside linebackers coach, according to the Times Herald-Record. Dixon coached at Ball State from 2009-15. 

Sacred Heart (CT): Memphis offensive graduate assistant Tony Tokarz has joined the Sacred Heart staff as wide receivers coach. Tokarz spent two seasons at Memphis.

Kentucky: Former South Carolina defensive backs coach Grady Brown will interview for the Kentucky defensive backs job, according to Brown worked at South Carolina from 2012-15, spending the final season as a quality control coordinator working with the defensive backs.

Kansas: Garland High School (TX) head coach Jeff Jordan will join the Kansas staff as director of player personnel, according to multiple reports. Jordan has been at Garland for 28 years and the head coach for 15.

Morgan State: Morgan State head coach Lee Hull will join the Indianapolis Colts staff as wide receivers coach, and offensive coordinator Fred Farrier is expected to be promoted to head coach, according to Sports Illustrated’s Thayer Evans. Hull has spent two years at Morgan State, posting an 11-12 record, and Farrier has been on staff for two years. Keep track of FCS head coaching changes here.

Texas: Toledo co-offensive coordinator / running backs coach Anthony Johnson will interview for the Texas running backs job, according to 247Sports. Johnson is a former Texas player.

Indiana: Defensive line coach Larry McDaniel will not return. McDaniel spent two seasons on the Indiana staff. Keep track of open FBS assistant jobs here.

Eastern Michigan: Former Syracuse defensive backs coach Fred Reed has joined the Eastern Michigan staff as cornerbacks coach, according to Sports Illustrated’s Thayer Evans. Reed worked at Syracuse from 2013-15. 

Sacramento State: Running backs coach Sam Lawanson will move to defensive coordinator, CoachingSearch has confirmed. Lawanson has been on staff since 2014 and has defensive experience as Tulsa linebackers coach from 2000-03, as an Arizona State defensive quality control coach in 2012 and in the Texas high school ranks as a defensive coordinator from 2004-11.

Western Kentucky: Former CFL quarterback Brian Brohm has been named Western Kentucky quarterbacks coach. Brohm is a former Louisville quarterback and is the younger brother of head coach Jeff Brohm. This is his first coaching job. In addition, running backs coach Bryan Ellis has moved to wide receivers, new offensive assistant Chris Barclay will coach running backs, and new defensive assistant Reggie Johnson will coach defensive ends. 

Atlanta Falcons: Former Chiefs assistant general manager Joel Collier has been named Falcons director of pro personnel. Collier worked with the Chiefs from 2009-13.

James Madison: Western Carolina running backs coach De’Rail Sims has joined the JMU staff, per his Twitter account. Sims spent the past three seasons at WCU.

Kentucky: Buffalo Bills assistant defensive backs coach Ed Reed has turned down interest from Kentucky for their defensive backs job, according to the Louisville Courier-Journal. Mark Stoops was the defensive backs coach at Miami (FL) from 2001-03 and coached Reed. 

Maryland: Missouri graduate assistant Cooper Bassett has joined the Maryland staff as an offensive graduate assistant. Bassett spent three seasons at Mizzou.

James Madison: Duke football operations assistant Drew Dudzik has joined the JMU staff as wide receivers coach. Dudzik spent two years at Duke and was JMU’s starting quarterback from 2009-10.

Texas: The school’s board of regents will approve contracts for new offensive coordinator Sterlin Gilbert and offensive line coach Matt Mattox this week, per the AP. Both will have three year deals, with Gilbert earning $850,000 annually and Mattox earning $550,000.

Cleveland Browns: The Browns have officially announced the additions of former Giants defensive line coach Robert Nunn (DL coach), Western Kentucky defensive ends coach Ken Delgado (assistant DL coach), BC Lions linebackers coach Johnny Holland (inside LB coach), Jets assistant defensive line coach Ryan Slowik (outside LB coach), Titans defensive backs coach Louis Cioffi (DB coach), Titans defensive quality control coach Cannon Matthews (assistant DB coach), Steelers training camp intern Rock Cartwright (offensive quality control) and Stanford defensive assistant Eric Sanders (defensive quality control).

Western Kentucky: Former Houston head coach Tony Levine will join the Western Kentucky staff as an offensive assistant and special teams coordinator, according to Fox Sports’ Bruce Feldman. Levine was Houston’s head coach from 2012-14. 

Maryland: Syracuse offensive graduate assistant Joe Furco has joined the Maryland staff as a graduate assistant. Furco spent one year with Syracuse. 

New England Patriots: The Patriots are in discussions with Dante Scarnecchia about returning to the coaching staff, according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss. Scarnecchia coached with the Patriots from 1991-2013, including 15 years as the offensive line coach.

Cal Poly: Central Washington defensive coordinator Payam Saadat has rejoined the Cal Poly staff as defensive line coach. Saadat previously coached at Cal Poly from 1996-97 and 2004-08.

Ave Maria (FL): St. John’s College High School (D.C.) head coach Joe Patterson has been named head coach at Ave Maria. Patterson spent 12 years at St. John’s.

Texas A&M: Offensive line coach / run game coordinator Dave Christensen will not return. Christensen spent one season at A&M.

Open jobs: With more than 30 FBS assistant jobs open, here’s a breakdown by position, conference and more.

Old Dominion: Running backs coach / special teams coordinator Michael Zyskowski and offensive line coach / run game coordinator Bill Dee will not return, per The Virginian-Pilot. Zyskowski had been on staff since 2008 and Dee since 2011.

Alabama: Kentucky co-defensive coordinator / defensive backs coach Derrick Ansley will join the Alabama staff as a defensive assistant, according to the Tuscaloosa News. Ansley has been at UK since 2013 and added the co-DC title this offseason. He was an Alabama graduate assistant from 2010-11.

Northern Illinois: Southern Illinois cornerbacks coach Melvin Rice will join the NIU staff in the same role, per Sports Illustrated’s Thayer Evans. Rice spent last season at Southeast Missouri, but had recently joined the SIU staff. 

Minnesota: Former Coffeyville CC (KS) offensive line coach William Peagler has joined the Minnesota staff in an offensive quality control role, according to his Twitter account. Peagler spent last season as an assistant at Olive Branch High School (MS). Keep track of open FBS assistant jobs here.

South Alabama: Northern Illinois cornerbacks coach Kelvin Sigler will join the South Alabama staff, according to Sports Illustrated’s Thayer Evans. Sigler spent the past three years at NIU and is a former Alabama player.

Arkansas State: Furman running backs coach Norval McKenzie will join the Arkansas State staff in the same role, according to Sports Illustrated’s Thayer Evans. McKenzie spent five years at Furman.

Washington: The school has announced new contracts for all nine assistants, per the Tacoma News Tribune. All are signed through 2017, except for offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Jonathan Smith though 2016. The new salaries are as follows: defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski ($600,000), co-defensive coordinator / defensive backs coach Jimmy Lake ($500,000), linebackers coach / special teams coordinator Bob Gregory ($490,000), Jonathan Smith ($440,000), offensive line coach Chris Strausser ($440,000), new wide receivers coach / pass game coordinator Bush Hamdan ($295,000) and new defensive line coach Ikaika Malloe ($280,000), running backs coach Keith Bhonapha ($280,000), and tight ends coach Jordan Paopao ($210,000). The total assistant salary pool is $3.51 million.

LSU: Arkansas graduate assistant Eric Mateos has joined the LSU staff as an assistant offensive line coach. Mateos spent three years at Arkansas. 

Defiance College (OH): Head coach Brian Sheehan has announced that he will not return next season. Sheehan spent nine years at Defiance, including four as head coach.

North Dakota State: Wisconsin-Stout defensive line coach Kody Morgan has joined the North Dakota State staff. Morgan spent two years at UW-Stout.

Los Angeles Rams: St. Louis Rams employees not following the Rams to L.A. will be paid two months termination pay, six months severance pay and one week of additional pay for each year of employment with the team, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Louisville: Director of on-campus recruiting Cort Dennison has been promoted to a full-time role as assistant defensive backs coach, and graduate assistant Nick Petrino has been promoted to wide receivers coach. Both have been on Bobby Petrino’s staff for the past three years. This fills the openings on the Louisville staff. Keep track of open FBS assistant jobs here.

Nebraska: Defensive line coach Hank Hughes will not return. Hughes spent one year at Nebraska.

Utah State: Louisiana-Monroe tight ends coach Steve Farmer has accepted the offensive line job at Utah State. Farmer has been at ULM since 2010.

Indianapolis Colts: Arkansas running backs coach / special teams coordinator Jemal Singleton has accepted the running backs job with the Colts, according to Sports Illustrated’s Thayer Evans. Singleton spent one year at Arkansas after four years at Oklahoma State. It's the second straight year Bret Bielema has seen his running backs coach go to the NFL. 

North Carolina: Kansas State graduate assistant Zach Hanson has joined the UNC staff in a special teams role. Hanson spent four years on the K-State staff and is a former K-State player.

Wake Forest: Per source, Cornell defensive backs coach / director of recruiting operations Greg Jones has accepted a defensive graduate assistant position at Wake Forest. Jones has spent the past four years at Cornell. 

Colorado State: Graduate assistant Joe Cox has been promoted to tight ends coach. Cox has been at CSU for one season and previously played under Mike Bobo at Georgia. 

USC: Athletic director Pat Haden will retire from his role, effective June 30. He will remain with the school to "guide" the renovation of the LA Memorial Coliseum on a one-year contract. Haden has been the AD since 2010.

Arizona: New defensive coordinator Marcel Yates is expected to receive a multi-year contract worth $500,000 annually, and co-offensive coordinator / running backs / associate head coach Calvin Magee is expected to receive a $20,000 raise to $520,000 and a multi-year deal, per the Arizona Daily Star. Both would be the first multi-year deals for assistants in the program. In addition, Arizona will pay Yates’ $75,000 buyout to Boise State.

Prairie View A&M: Head coach Willie Simmons has announced he turned down the offensive coordinator job at Southern Miss.

Cal: Former Texas A&M offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Jake Spavital is expected to join the Cal staff as offensive coordinator, according to Sports Illustrated’s Thayer Evans. Fox Sports adds that Spavital will call plays. CoachingSearch first reported last month that Spavital was in the mix to join the staff. Spavital spent 2013-15 at Texas A&M. He doesn't have previous experience with Sonny Dykes, but has an Air Raid background, which Dykes said he wanted. 

Ohio State: Youngstown State tight ends coach / co-special teams coordinator Kyle Brey has joined the Ohio State staff as an offensive quality control coach. Brey spent one year at YSU and was previously a graduate assistant at Nebraska.  

New York Jets: Colorado State tight ends coach / special teams coordinator Jeff Hammerschmidt has joined the Jets staff as assistant special teams coach, according to Fox Sports’ Alex Marvez. Hammerschmidt spent four years at CSU, and this is his first NFL job. 

Rutgers: Running backs coach Jafar Williams and wide receivers coach Zak Kuhr have switched roles. 

Purdue: After replacing five assistants, here is the finalized Purdue staff for 2016.

Temple: Former Cleveland Browns offensive line coach George DeLeone has joined the Temple staff and could coach running backs, tight ends or offensive line, according to Sports Illustrated’s Thayer Evans. DeLeone spent two years with the Browns. This fills the opening on the Temple staff. 

Michigan: Asked if there’s unfinished business in the NFL, Jim Harbaugh tells The Dan Patrick Show, “No, there’s just new business. That’s how I look at it. … Unfinished business has never resonated with me.”

Boston College: Former Texans defensive line coach Paul Pasqualoni has joined the BC staff in the same role, and Marian High School (MA) head coach Rich Gunnell has joined the staff as wide receivers coach. Gunnell was a BC graduate assistant from 2012-13. In addition, tight ends coach Frank Leonard has added the title of assistant head coach, special teams coordinator Al Washington has added defensive line duties, and former BC linebacker Ricky Brown has joined the staff as a recruiting specialist / quality control. 

Duke: Assistant defensive coordinator Jim Collins has moved into an administrative role as director of football relations / special assistant to the head coach, and Duke has added Boston College defensive line coach Ben Albert as associate defensive coordinator / defensive line coach. Collins had been on the Duke staff since 2008. Albert spent the past three years at Boston College. 

Michigan: Prattville High School (AL) assistant Antonio Richards has joined the Michigan staff as an offensive analyst, according to multiple reports. Richards has spent 12 years at Prattville. 

Louisiana-Lafayette: Wide receivers coach Jorge Munoz has been promoted to offensive coordinator, and Southern Miss running backs coach John Simon has officially joined the ULL staff as wide receivers coach. Munoz has spent the past eight years at ULL, while Simon spent three years at USM. 

Louisiana Tech: Boston College wide receivers coach Todd Fitch will join the LA Tech staff as offensive coordinator / wide receivers coach, according to’s LA Tech site. Fitch has spent the past three seasons at BC and has previously worked with Skip Holtz at South Florida, East Carolina and UConn.
