Utah wide receivers / passing game coordinator Aaron Roderick has changed his mind and will remain with Kyle Whittingham's staff a day after agreeing to join the BYU staff under Bronco Mendenhall.

For Roderick, it's the second time in his career that he struggled with leaving the Utah program, a place where he has experienced great success.

In January of 2009, Washington head coach Steve Sarkisian offered Roderick a position on the Huskies staff.  Roderick spent roughly nine days with the Huskies before deciding to return to Utah.

Roderick said, "The main thing is I realized how much I love Utah. The response from my players yesterday was overwhelming when they heard I was leaving. I was touched by the way players reacted and realized how much I love Utah."

"I didn't use it for leverage or anything like that. I just realized how much I love Utah."

Roderick served as grad assistant at BYU from 1999-2001.  He coached at Snow College in 2002 before spending the 2003 and 2004 seasons at Southern Utah.

In 2005, Roderick joined the Utah staff.

Interestingly, BYU is Roderick's alma mater.  Next season, Utah travels to BYU in week #4.  The Utes, however, do not play against Washington.

Obviously, the grass isn't always greener somewhere else.
