Big Ten: Associate commissioner Scott Chipman has been promoted to associate commissioner of football operations. Chipman has been the Big Ten’s top communications official for the last 12 years.

Miami (FL): Mark Richt told boosters he will donate $1 million of his own money to help fund Miami’s indoor practice facility, according to the Palm Beach Post. Richt has said an indoor facility is his No. 1 priority for the program. 

Washington: UW paid $105,000 for Parker Executive Search’s assistance on its AD search, which resulted in the promotion of Jennifer Cohen.

Central Washington: Per source, Central Washington defensive backs coach / special teams coordinator Benny Boyd has been selected to participate in the Bill Walsh Minority Fellowship with the Oakland Raiders. Boyd participated in the fellowship with the Steelers in 2010.

Washington: Interim AD Jennifer Cohen has been promoted to the permanent AD role. Cohen had been in the interim role since January and has worked at UW for 18 years. She was previously a senior associate AD. Here's an updated list of FBS athletic director changes.

Tennessee: Associate director of football operations Keith Pantling has accepted the athletic director job at La Salle High School in Cincinnati. Pantling had been at UT since 2014 and worked at Cincinnati from 2010-12.

FCS: Nearly 40 FCS assistants were hired in FBS this offseason. Here is the full list.

Baylor: reports the Baylor board of regents have dismissed school president Ken Starr, due to the ongoing scandal over the school’s handing of arrests and sexual assaults by football players. Reporter Chip Brown adds that senior vice president of operations / COO Reagan Ramsower is the leading candidate to take over on an interim basis. In addition, Brown reports other people at the school would be let go before it came to Art Briles, whom Brown says is safer than AD Ian McCaw.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Per source, North Carolina defensive quality control assistant Tony Gilbert has been selected to participate in the Bill Walsh Minority Fellowship with the Bucs. Gilbert has been at UNC since last May and played in the NFL for seven years.

Two moves: Nearly 20 FBS coaches made two moves this offseason. Here is the full list.

Grossmont College (CA): Former San Jose State outside linebackers coach Joe Staab has joined the Grossmont staff. Staab spent the past three seasons at SJSU and previously coached at the University of San Diego.

North Texas: Athletic director Rick Villarreal will step down on June 20, according to the Denton Record-Chronicle. Villarreal has spent nearly 15 years at the school and still had two years remaining on his contract. He will receive a buyout. Here is an updated list of FBS athletic director changes.

Kansas State: Associate athletic director Clint Dowdle has left the school and accepted a job at CAA, according to Sports Illustrated. The 33-year-old Dowdle oversaw the football program and spent three years at K-State.

Central Michigan: Per source, former Syracuse graduate assistant Jesse Johnson has joined the Central Michigan staff as on-campus recruiting coordinator. Johnson spent one season at Syracuse and was previously a GA at CMU from 2013-14.

Stanford: Colorado defensive graduate assistant Tyrone McKenzie has accepted a position at Stanford, according to the Daily Camera. McKenzie spent one season on the CU staff, where he worked with outside linebackers.

Auburn: More than 15 Auburn staffers under Gus Malzahn have become full-time coaches over the past three years. Here is the full list.

Baltimore Ravens: Colorado offensive graduate assistant Patrick Williams has accepted a position with the Ravens, according to the Daily Camera. Williams had been on the CU staff since 2013 and spent two years as GA. He spent two weeks with the Ravens last summer as part of the Nunn-Wooten Scouting Fellowship.

Stanford: What does it take to be a coach? Here’s David Shaw’s advice.

Bridgewater State (MA): Head coach Charles Denune has been placed on paid administrative leave following his arrest.

Florida State: Jimbo Fisher tells the Palm Beach Post that he’s had “decently serious” contact from NFL teams in the past few years, but turned down the interest after thinking about it for a half-hour. “I love college and I had opportunities to go to pro football as an assistant coach and as a coordinator and I’ve had inquiries as a head coach. It’s got to be the right organization at the right time and the right situation if you’re ever interested. We have a great situation where I’m at. It’s not something that drives me.”

Oregon State: Assistant director of football operations Zak Bigelow has been named head coach at Fossil Ridge High School (CO). Bigelow spent last year at Oregon State and has also worked at Northern Colorado and Tulsa.

Florida International: Defensive backs coach Ron Cooper has been promoted to defensive coordinator / linebackers / assistant head coach, and Edinboro (PA) defensive coordinator / defensive backs coach Bobby Babich has joined the FIU staff as defensive backs coach / defensive pass game coordinator. Cooper is entering his second season on the FIU staff. Babich joined Edinboro this offseason and spent the past three years as the Cleveland Browns assistant defensive backs coach. In addition, FIU quarterbacks / wide receivers coach Kort Shankweiler has added the title of pass game coordinator, and running backs coach Tim Harris Jr. has added the title of run game coordinator. 

High school: Nearly 30 high school coaches were hired to FBS college football jobs this offseason. Here is the full list.

UConn: Long Beach State athletic director Vic Cegles has been named deputy AD at UConn. Cegles spent the past 10 years at Long Beach State and was the NCAA I-AAA athletic director of the year in 2014-15.

Boise State: Chris Ross’ title at Boise State is director of player development. Ross joined the Boise State staff earlier this offseason and was previously the head coach at Prosper High School (TX).

Illinois: Athletics administrator Warren Hood has been promoted to deputy athletic director. Hood has been in the athletic department since 1999.

Miles College (AL): Per source, consultant Maurice Flowers has been promoted to offensive coordinator. Flowers assisted the program last year en route to the SIAC championship. Flowers was previously the offensive coordinator at Shaw College.

Carolina Panthers: Former Miami Dolphins assistant GM Eric Stokes and former 49ers director of player personnel Joel Patten have joined the Panthers staff as area scouts. Stokes spent the past two years with the Dolphins and previously worked with the Buccaneers. Patten spent four seasons with the 49ers, most recently in 2013.
