Posted by: Josh Kendall on December 3, 2012 It always seems like Oregon State coach Mike Riley has a smile on his face. And why not? The Beavers reversed their disappointing 2011 season this year, turning last year's 3-9 record into 9-3 this season. "It's been kind of a unique ride," Riley said Sunday when he told his team about Oregon State's invitation to the Alamo Bowl. "One of the biggest turnarounds in college football history, and it started about this time a year ago." The Beavers beat Nicholls State 77-3 on Saturday in a game that was meant to be played to open the season but was postponed due to weather. Before that game, Riley addressed his attitude, which is positive for a purpose, he said. "I learned that from Coach (John) Robinson down at USC," Riley said. "This isn't the Bataan Death March. That's what he used to say. We want it to be fun."
