Texas A&M: Per source, former East Carolina outside linebackers coach Duane Price has joined the Texas A&M staff as a defensive quality control assistant. Price coached at ECU from 2010-15. He is a College Station native and coached at a high school in the town.

Emory & Henry (VA): Running backs coach Quintin Hunter has been promoted to offensive coordinator. The 25-year-old Hunter is entering his fourth season on the staff.

Tennessee: Per source, former Cleveland Browns outside linebackers coach Ryan Slowik has joined Tennessee as a defensive analyst. Slowik spent one year with the Browns and has also coached with the Jets, Cardinals, Broncos and more. See the full list of full-time coaches moving to off-field jobs here.

TCU: Per source, Neville High School (LA) offensive coordinator Brett Lemoine has joined the TCU recruiting staff as director of high school relations. 

Tennessee: Former Georgia State defensive backs coach / special teams coordinator Eric Lewis has joined the Tennessee staff as a quality control assistant, according to 247Sports. Lewis spent two years at Georgia State and previously coached at Buffalo, Weber State and Eastern Michigan. 

Rutgers: Offensive line coach A.J. Blazek has been promoted to assistant head coach. Blazek is entering his second year on staff.

VMI: Per source, former UConn offensive coordinator Mike Cummings has joined the VMI staff as offensive line coach, Duke football operations assistant Allen Smith has joined VMI as defensive line coach, and Hendrix College outside linebackers coach Robert Henderson has joined as an offensive assistant. Cummings spent the last three years at UConn, and Smith and Henderson spent one year at their previous jobs. This fills the last openings on the staff.

Central Oklahoma: Mississippi State football recruiting specialist Jarrail Jackson has joined the Central Oklahoma staff as wide receivers coach. Jackson spent one year at Mississippi State and previously coached at Davidson.

Baylor: Associate athletic director for athletic performance  Kaz Kazadi has been reassigned to a position outside the strength staff, according to ESPN. Kazadi has been at Baylor since 2008.

Southeastern Louisiana: UVA-Wise wide receivers coach Joey Fitzgerald has joined the Southeastern Louisiana staff as wide receivers coach. Fitzgerald spent one yeat at UVA-Wise and previously coached at Eastern Kentucky.

Syracuse: Steve Stanard’s title at Syracuse is defensive ends coach. Stanard spent the last three years as Wyoming defensive coordinator and recently joined Syracuse.

Penn State: Temple coordinator of on-campus recruiting E.J. Barthel has accepted a recruiting coordinator job at Penn State, according to Barthel spent one season at Temple and previously worked at Rutgers.

Augustana (SD): Minnesota State Mankato defensive backs coach Jordan Malone has joined the Augustana staff as defensive coordinator. Malone spent two years at Minnesota State Mankato.

Syracuse: Per source, Justin Lustig’s role at Syracuse is running backs coach / special teams coordinator. Lustig spent last year as Edinboro (PA) head coach, taking an 0-11 team to 9-2 in his first season.

Eastern Illinois: Maine cornerbacks coach Alvah Hansbro has joined the EIU staff as cornerbacks coach / special teams coordinator. Hansbro spent one year at Maine and was previously a quality control assistant at Syracuse.

San Diego Mesa: Former Seton Hill (PA) wide receivers coach Rich Yahner has joined the San Diego Mesa staff. Yahner spent two years at Seton Hill and previously coached at Penn State in an off-field coaching role.

Wichita State: ESPN’s Andy Katz reports Wichita State will accept an invitation to the American Athletic Conference if offered. The league is expected to make a decision on a possible invitation in the coming weeks. Last summer, the school conducted a study on the feasibility of restarting a football program, which would cost more than $50 million.

Yards per play D: 18 FBS schools have allowed fewer than 5.5 yards per play for four straight years. Read more here.

Syracuse: Edinboro (PA) head coach Justin Lustig will join the Syracuse staff as a full-time assistant, according to the Erie Times-News. Lustig led Edinboro to 9-2 in his first year after taking over an 0-11 team. He spent the previous five years as a Ball State assistant. Keep track of open FBS assistant jobs here.

IUP: University of Charleston offensive coordinator / QB / RB coach Tate Gregory has joined the IUP staff as offensive coordinator. Gregory spent three years at UC.

Albany: Head coach Greg Gattuso has added Robert Morris defensive backs coach Bill Hurley (WR coach), St. John Fisher College quarterbacks coach Will Fiacchi (offensive assistant) and Holy Cross outside linebackers coach Bill Nesselt (defensive assistant). In addition, current defensive assistant Keith Dudzinski will serve as safeties / assistant head coach, and defensive assistant Dave Plungas will serve as outside linebackers coach.

Western Illinois: Quarterbacks coach Jared Elliott has been promoted to co-offensive coordinator, running backs coach / special teams coordinator Ben Hodges has moved to outside linebackers coach / special teams coordinator, and offensive line coach Ty Howle has added recruiting coordinator duties. All three are entering their second years on the staff.

Louisville: Assistant defensive backs coach Cort Dennison has moved to inside linebackers, and Lorenzo Ward will be the sole defensive backs coach. Dennison has been on staff since 2014, and Ward is entering his first year.

Toronto Argonauts: Marc Trestman’s staff has been completed. New assistants include former Bears assistant to the head coach Josh Moore (RB coach), former Hamilton Tiger-Cats offensive coordinator Tommy Condell (WR coach), former Rutgers OL coach Mitch Browning (OL coach), IMG Academy director of football Steve Walsh (senior assistant), former Saskatchewan Roughriders head coach Corey Chamblin (defensive coordinator), New Mexico State defensive line coach Kerry Locklin (DL coach), former Virginia linebackers coach Mike Archer (LB coach), former CFL player Tyron Brackenridge (assistant DB coach), former Amstetten Thunder (Austria) head coach Gavin Lake (defensive quality control), former CFL player Kevin Eiben (special teams coordinator) and former Savannah State head coach Wendell Avery (assistant special teams). Offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Marcus Brady was also retained.

Western Illinois: Former Louisville linebackers coach Tony Grantham has joined WIU as defensive coordinator, and former Lindenwood defensive coordinator Deion Melvin has joined WIU as inside linebackers coach. Grantham spent three years at Louisville, and Melvin was at Lindenwood from 2011-16.

Kentucky: Mark Stoops has received a 2-year contract extension through 2021. The contract is worth $3.5 million this year, with $250,000 increases each year. Stoops is 19-30 in four years, coming off his first bowl appearance and a 7-6 record.

Texas A&M: Former Middle Tennessee defensive coordinator Tyrone Nix has joined the A&M staff as a defensive analyst, according to TexAgs. Eastern Illinois: Former Hawaii director of player personnel Keith Uperesa has joined the EIU staff as offensive line coach. Uperesa worked at Hawaii from 2012-15 and was previously the offensive line coach at Nicholls State.

UConn: Former UConn and NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky has joined the staff as a student assistant for the spring.

Toledo: Head coach Jason Candle has received an extension through 2021. Candle went 9-4 in his first season as head coach and has been at the school since 2009.

South Dakota State: Offensive line coach Jason Eck has added the title of run game coordinator. Eck is entering his second year on staff.

Central Michigan: Defensive backs coach Archie Collins has added the title of defensive passing game coordinator, offensive line coach Derek Frazier has added the title of run game coordinator, and tight ends coach Sherrone Moore has added the title of assistant head coach.

Washington State: Dayton linebackers coach Tee Overman has joined the Washington State staff as a special teams quality control assistant. Overman spent one year at Dayton and previously coached at Wingate University from 2007-15.

Florida State: FSU is one of three Power 5 schools to return the same nine assistants for a third straight year. Jimbo Fisher explains why.

North Texas: Several UNT assistants have received raises, according to the Denton Record-Chronicle. That includes offensive coordinator Graham Harrell ($10,000 increase to $235,000), defensive coordinator Troy Reffett ($55,000 increase to $215,000), head strength coach Zack Womack ($30,000 increase to $120,000), WR coach Joel Filani ($10,000 increase to $110,000) and CB coach Nate Brown ($15,000 increase to $95,000). In addition, new special teams coordinator Marty Biagi will earn $130,000.

Alabama: Former Ole Miss offensive coordinator / quarterbacks Dan Werner will officially join Alabama as an offensive analyst, according to Fox Sports’ Bruce Feldman. Werner spent the last five years at Ole Miss, including two wins over Alabama in the last three years.

Nebraska: Former Notre Dame tight ends coach / special teams coordinator Scott Booker has joined the Nebraska staff as a special teams analyst, according to multiple reports. Booker worked at Notre Dame from 2010-16, where he worked with new Nebraska assistants Bob Diaco and Bob Elliott.

Atlanta Falcons: President / CEO Rich McKay has received a 5-year extension through 2022. McKay has been with the team since 2004.

Ohio State: The Buckeyes have added Maryland assistant strength coach Niko Palazeti as an assistant strength coach and former OSU wide receiver Brian Hartline as a coaching intern. Palazeti spent one year at Maryland and also worked at Mississippi State. In addition, intern Louie Addazio has been promoted to graduate assistant.

Southern (LA): Head coach Dawson Odums has signed an extension through 2019, according to The Advocate. It also includes a $5,000 raise to $180,000 in 2017. Odums is 32-16 since taking over full-time in 2013.

Iowa: Tight ends coach LeVar Woods has added special teams coordinator duties. Woods has been on staff since 2008 and in a full-time coaching role since 2012.

Washington State: Former Michigan linebacker Joe Bolden has joined the Washington State staff, according to his Twitter account. Bolden played at U-M from 2012-15, and he played under current WSU outside linebackers coach Roy Manning. Bolden worked on the U-M staff last season.
