Arkansas: AD Jeff Long says he is not interested in leaving Arkansas. Long was reportedly a candidate for the Stanford athletic director position.
New York Jets: Head coach Rex Ryan has made it clear that he will be more involved in the defense this season.
Alcorn State: Sources again tell me that Alcorn State officials have yet to make a decision on their new head coach.
Auburn: Georgia assistant strength coach Tony Gilbert has accepted a defensive grad assistant position at Auburn. Gilbert played at Georgia when Brian VanGorder was the defensive coordinator. Sources tell me that VanGorder wanted someone with experience as a linebacker and also considered former NFL linebacker Nate Wayne for the position. Wayne played in Jacksonville in 2005 when VanGorder was a part of the Jaguars staff. With Gilbert landing the job, it's obvious that great pre-snap stance as a player was a requirement for the job.
