Christopher Newport University: Outside linebackers coach Justin Wood has been promoted to defensive coordinator.

Penn State: According to the Associated Press, for his 61 years of service, Penn State will pay Joe Paterno's family a pension of $13.4 million.  Joe Paterno's widow, Sue, will receive $10.1 million by the end of May.  The rest of the payout will come over the next two years. The Paterno family will donate $1.5 million to Penn State and nearby charities.

Tulane: Sources tell me that Tulane head coach Curtis Johnson has hired Western Michigan video coordinator Mike McCarthy as an offensive grad assistant. I am told that Western Michigan already has a guy in place to replace McCarthy.

Stanford: Stanford has changed its offensive coordinator title to the 'Andrew Luck Director of Offense.' Here's the story.

Illinois: Tim Knox has joined the staff as director of football operations.  Knox spent the last fifteen years at Western Michigan in the same capacity.

New Mexico: Sources tell me that Illinois State student-assistant Kane Kienan has accepted an offensive grad assistant job at New Mexico.

West Virginia: Former head coach Bill Stewart has suffered a heart-attack and died, according to West Virginia University.  Please keep Stewart's family and friends in your thoughts.  Here's a video of Stewart's chilling pre-game speech before a 48-28 win over Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl.

Doane College: a nationally recognized liberal arts and sciences college in Crete, NE, invites applications for the position of Offensive Intern Football Coach.  Job duties include Offensive Skill Position Coach, Possible Video Production responsibilities, recruiting, strength and conditioning, and other duties assigned by the Head Coach.  Will work with Offensive Coordinator in all aspects of game-plan preparation and position work.  Graduate classes are available although tuition is not provided.  This is a 9-month stipend position with no benefits.  Please forward electronic copies of cover letter, resume, and at least 3 references to: cindy.albert@doane.edu

Alabama: North Carolina director of player personnel Marcus Berry has entered the mix for the same position at Alabama.  Sources tell me that Berry will interview for the position in Tuscaloosa, today.

New Orleans Saints: Executive vice president / chief financial officer Dennis Lauscha has been promoted to president of the New Orleans Saints.

Alabama: Sources tell me Purdue director of player personnel Paul Gonnella was on campus in Tuscaloosa this weekend to interview for the same position with Nick Saban.

Coffeyville Community College (KS): Former Troy defensive line coach Mo Crain has joined the Coffeyville staff.
