When Clemson and LSU meet tonight in the Chick-fil-A Bowl, it might be one of the most entertaining matchups of the bowl season. When head coaches Dabo Swinney and Les Miles met Sunday for the final time before the game, it definitely was one of the most entertaining news conferences of the bowl season.
"I like Coach Miles. Once I found out he wasn't going to kiss me, I liked him even more," Swinney said.
The two lobbed compliments back and forth most of the news conference.
"I met his family," Miles said. "I think they're going to hang out with us. Now, I'm not ready to go vacationing with him yet."
Swinney did joke that he used the enormous Georgia Dome as cover to spy on LSU's practices.
"You practice in the Dome, you get a little paranoid because there are a lot of cameras," Swinney said. "I told Les, 'We were only videoing the scout sessions of your practices.'"
The constant camera presence in the Georgia Dome and the number of perfectly innocent workers milling about the building most times of the day did keep Miles busy, he said.
"I can't tell you how many managers I have run up to an area," he said.
