We're deep into the coach-shuffling season, and lots of names are in new locations. There's still plenty to be sorted out, though, as eight schools have an opening to fill. Some, like Western Michigan, have been looking for a while, and, some, like San Jose State and Texas Tech, are just getting started. We've broken down the remaining searches for you and indicated when they began in parantheses. For all the latest on all the searches, just check here regularly.

Western Michigan (Nov. 17): Those crickets you hear are coming from Kalamazoo, Mich., where the Broncos still are searching for someone to replace Bill Cubit, who was dismissed following the regular season finale. Athletic director Kathy Beauregard told MLive.com last week that she had spoken to several candidates and hoped to have a new coach in place by Dec. 25.

Temple (Dec. 4): Steve Addazio left to take the top job at Boston College eight days ago. Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Todd Bowles and Cristobal reportedly have interviewed for the job.

Wisconsin (Dec. 4): Athletic director Barry Alvarez hasn't made much coach hiring news since Bret Bielema left nine days ago to take the Arkansas job. That may be because the Badgers former head coach is getting ready to make a return to the sideline to coach Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl against Stanford. Immediately after Bielema's departure, Alvarez said he was looking for someone with head coaching experience who understands "how we win at Wisconsin."

Florida International (Dec. 5): The Panthers' search has been mostly quiet since they dismissed Mario Cristobal a week ago. Cristobal, meanwhile, reportedly has interviewed for the top job at Temple.

Kent State (Dec. 5): Darrell Hazell, the Mid-American coach of the year, left a week ago to take the Purdue job, and the Golden Flashes have kept their search under pretty tight wrap since then.

LA Tech (Dec. 5): Sonny Dykes took the Cal job a week ago and took offensive coordinator Tony Franklin and a high-powered offense with him. Several names have been connected to this job, including Tampa Bay Bucs quarterbacks coach Ron Turner, Oklahoma offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Josh Heupel and Toledo head coach Matt Campbell.

Texas Tech (Dec. 8): The Red Raiders probably didn't expect to be doing a coaching search this week, but that changed when Tommy Tuberville took the job at Cincinnati this weekend. We know Texas Tech athletic director Kirby Hocutt has talked to Clemson offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Chad Morris. TigerIllustrated.com reported their Tuesday meeting at a South Carolina airport. If Texas Tech decides to go with this year's trend of hiring a sitting head coach, Mark Hudspeth could be a candidate as well.

San Jose State (Dec. 10): The Spartans are just getting started in their effort to replace Mike MacIntyre, who left Monday to take the Colorado job. Bryan Harsin made a lot of sense for this post, but Arkansas State put the brakes on that. Washington defensive coordinator Justin Wilcox is another coach with a connection to San Jose State athletic director Gene Bleymaier.
