Video: The moment Jeff Fisher told Rams coaches he was dismissed

Just about every coach loses their job at some point, and it’s never easy. Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like.

The LA Rams were the team selected last season for Amazon’s “All Or Nothing” series, which debuts on June 30. As part of a preview, they released a clip of Jeff Fisher telling the Rams coaches he was let go.

It came after a 42-14 loss to the Seahawks in Week 14. Most of the staff didn’t move. Special teams coordinator John Fassel is distraught. He ended up becoming interim head coach and was retained on the new staff.

“Unfortunately, I won’t be there this weekend. I was just fired,” Fisher says. “I appreciate everything you guys have done for this football team and for me, the loyalty you’ve shown. Sorry if I let you guys down. You guys didn’t let me down. You busted your ass every single day for me.

“I will do whatever I can for every single one of you. I will be there for you when the season’s over, recommend you, call to the end of the night to have you guys find work, OK?”

Mike Singletary then walks to the front and shakes Fisher’s hand. Fisher went 31-45-1 in five seasons.
