Video: Mark Richt's mic'd up at Miami spring practice

Mark Richt wanted to be more hands-on when he took the Miami head coaching job last year. That’s evident again in his second spring with the Hurricanes.

Miami released a video of Richt mic’d up at practice. It includes him giving a lot of coaching to the quarterbacks — where he wants the pass thrown, how to hand the ball off and more.

And practice opened with some advice for the team: Work hard in practice, and you don’t have to run after it.

“The goal in practice, men, is to make sure all of our conditioning is during practice, OK?” he said. “That means we’re going to practice hard, we’re going to practice fast.”

The Canes went 9-4 in Richt’s first season and bring back 15 starters, but he needs a new quarterback this year. Miami won’t have a spring game.
