Texas A&M defensive line coach Terry Price has been honored by the school for helping get players through a tragedy.
In July, defensive lineman Polo Manukainiu was killed in a car accident in New Mexico.
Each month, an athletic department staff member is honored for going beyond his or her duty. For Price, it was helping student-athletes cope with the loss of a teammate and friend, while dealing with his own pain of losing a student.
“There was one staff member in particular who served a critical role for our student-athletes. This person reached out to all those close to Polo, provided a source of strength through the hard times. This person exemplifies what our business is all about, caring for our student athletes. Terry Price, you’ve been a fantastic supporter of our student-athletes, not just as a coach, but as a student mentor and friend. We can’t thank you enough for the job you did.”
