Nick Aliotti candidly describes what he misses most about Chip Kelly

Oregon has a “next man up” philosophy.

Well, the time has come.  It’s Mark Helfrich’s turn to lead the ship.

But before the games begin, KEZI 9 News reporter Erik Elkin asked long-time Ducks’ defensive coordinator Nick Aliotti what he misses about Chip Kelly.

Nick Aliotti said, “He was funny.  A lot of people didn’t get to know that side of him.  He was a fun guy.  99.9% of the time, he was upbeat.  You would come in in the morning and loud music would be blaring just like we have on the field.  He was very good to me.  He never said one word on the headset in the four years that he was the head coach and I was the defensive coordinator.  He never came into a defensive meeting and I wish him nothing but the best.”

It wasn’t the longest answer, but Aliotti said a lot.

The Ducks opens the season on Saturday against Nicholls State.
