Louisville DL coach Clint Hurt to join Chicago Bears staff

A source tells CoachingSearch that Louisville defensive line coach Clint Hurtt will join the Chicago Bears staff.

Hurtt has been at Louisville since 2010, after spending 2006-09 as defensive line coach at Miami (FL). He was the defensive line coach at FIU in 2005 and spent the previous four years at Miami as a volunteer coach and graduate assistant.

Hurtt received a show-cause penalty in the fall, but he remained on staff and was retained by new coach Bobby Petrino. He was not allowed to recruit through spring 2014.

Hurtt will likely be coaching the defensive line in some form. The Bears' previous defensive line coach, Mike Phair, was dismissed earlier this month and reportedly was hired as assistant defensive line coach with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
