John Calipari gives Syracuse fans a reason to be excited

Mark Coyle was introduced as Syracuse’s athletic director on Monday, but it was a public show of support from a coach that best illustrates what Coyle brings to Syracuse.

Coyle worked at Kentucky from 2005-2011, serving as senior associate athletic director for external affairs for five years, followed by one and a half years as deputy athletic director. There, he worked with basketball coach John Calipari.

Monday afternoon, Calipari posted several tweets about what Coyle did for his basketball program.

Syracuse, like Kentucky, is a basketball school looking to improve its football program. Coaches know a good working relationship with administration is vital for success. The football program is coming off a 3-9 year, and the basketball program is dealing with NCAA penalties, but Calipari believes Coyle will bring a recipe for success to Syracuse, and Orange fans can be excited about that.
