Leading 10-7 at halftime at UMASS last Saturday, it was gut-check time for the Vanderbilt Commodores.
Senior offensive lineman Wesley Johnson hit a boiling point and snapped (Must-see) after a lackluster first half performance.
Afterwards, a fiery James Franklin addressed his team.
At the top of his voice, Franklin said, “It’s no different than it was three years ago. It’s no different than it was two years ago. We’ll be as good as you guys decide to be. Go out, make plays, fly around and have fun. We’re not doing that right now. That’s the reality of it. We can make all the excuses we want. The rest of your life, nobody is going to care about the problems. You either get it done or you don’t. Change it. Change your circumstances. That’s it. That's it. It's time to start taking control of your own circumstances.”
The Commodores won the game 24-7. This week, Franklin described his plan to get his team back to playing to their standard.
