Graphic: A look at Everett Withers' Texas State staff for 2016

It didn’t take long for Everett Withers to complete his staff at Texas State.

Just about a week after he left James Madison for the Texas State job, Withers had most of his staff in place, and now it’s all official.

Here’s a look at Withers’ Texas State staff:

Withers posted two 9-win seasons at JMU, so it’s not surprising he brought six on-field assistants and his strength coach from there.

What made this unique was that Withers had just reshaped his JMU staff right before the move. Randall McCray, Adrian Mayes and Tyler Santucci had only been at JMU for a week or so before Withers moved South. They followed, quickly moving up to FBS assistants in the process. Vince Oghobaase was also hired at JMU and followed to Texas State, but then left for the San Francisco 49ers. Former JMU defensive line coach Antoine Smith will fill his role.

Under Withers and Brett Elliott, the Dukes had the No. 2 scoring offense in FCS last season, putting up 44.3 points per game

There’s a lot of work to do in San Marcos, as Texas State finished No. 120 in scoring defense (39.2 ppg) and No. 79 in scoring offense (26.9 ppg).

The new FBS staffs are filling up quickly. Keep track of the new staffs here.
