College football's Friday night schedule in 2017

Posted by: Chris Vannini on Friday July 28, 2017

Wrapping up our look at weekday college football games this fall, it’s Friday, and it’s a big slate of games this year.

There are 53 Friday games this fall, down from 56 last year and 52 in the two prior years.  Every conference has at least one team with a Friday game this year, and all but the SEC have a Friday game before Thanksgiving. The Big Ten has added Friday night conference games, much to the dismay of the coaches in the league. But it’s become a national spotlight opportunity, especially as the NFL has put more into Thursdays.
