Chart: Run vs. Pass percentage of the Top 25 teams in college football

Posted by: Pete Roussel on Thursday November 07, 2013

Of the Top 25 teams in the nation, nine teams are rushing the football 60% of total snaps.

16 of 25 are rushing the ball at least 55% of total snaps including the Top 5 teams in the nation (Alabama, Florida State, Oregon, Ohio State, and Baylor).

Though balance shouldn’t be calculated by the run-pass percentage difference, this chart does illustrate tendencies of these teams.  Balance is truly more about the ability to run or pass effectively in all situations.

To no surprise, Washington State under Mike Leach leads the nation by throwing 77% of total snaps.
