- Fox Sports’ Bruce Feldman reports Cal is negotiating a contract to make Justin Wilcox its head coach.

- Another name to keep in mind is Illinois defensive coordinator Hardy Nickerson.

- A source tells CoachingSearch that Navy head coach Ken Niumatalolo is a strong candidate for the Cal head coaching job.

- Derek Mason tweets that he is staying at Vanderbilt, following a report Cal could have interest in him.

- Fox Sports’ Bruce Feldman reports Cal may have interest in Vanderbilt head coach Derek Mason for their head coaching job, and another sitting head coach is in the mix. Feldman adds that Wisconsin defensive coordinator Justin Wilcox has interviewed for the job.

- ESPN reports interim head coach / offensive coordinator Jake Spavital will interview for the Cal head coaching job on Tuesday. 247Sports adds that other expected interviews include Wisconsin defensive coordinator Justin Wilcox and Washington co-defensive coordinator Jimmy Lake. 

- Fox Sports lists potential candidates including Wisconsin DC Justin Wilcox, USC OC Tee Martin, interim head coach Jake Spavital, Washington co-DC Jimmy Lake and Chip Kelly.
